For your first burn, let the candle go for 2 to 3 hours until the entire surface of wax has melted to the edges. This prevents tunneling and sets up every burn after it.
Keep each session under 3 hours, and before each burn, break off the charred wood and trim the wick to ⅛ inch. Wooden wicks burn best when kept short and clean. After extinguishing, recenter the wick while the wax is still soft and make sure the flame never comes in contact with the glass.

I need to write this review specifically for people who have given up on scented candles because of sensitivities. I am one of those people. I have mild asthma and a history of getting headaches from synthetic fragrance, and scented candles in particular have been a problem for me for years. I have spent money on things that smelled beautiful in the store and became unwearable in my home within twenty minutes of lighting them. I tried the Sol e'Ciel candle because the ingredient list gave me more confidence than anything I had looked at before. I burned it in my bedroom, which is small, for two and a half hours the first night. No headache no tightness in my chest no watering eyes. The scent throw was present and beautiful without being aggressive. I burned it again the next night and the next. I am now three months into regular use and I have not had a single reaction. I have also noticed zero soot on the jar or the surface underneath it, which tells me the wooden wick and wax are doing exactly what they should. For anyone with sensitivities who has been told they just cannot have candles in their life.. please try this one before you give up entirely.

Hi. Just got my order today the candle is melted. UPS dropped off at 4p and I picked up at my door at 4:30p contacted owner was advised it will harden once inside pretty quickly. Smells amazing.
This is my favorite candle I have ever purchased anywhere and I buy and burn a ton of candles. I would not usually lean towards a rose scent but it's a super clean, light and captivating smell that you cant quite identify. One candle on the table and my whole house smells amazing but absolutely not overpowering. I even took this candle with me on vacation! I just purchased two more and will be giving them as gifts. The candle burns long and very very clean!

When I first smelt this candle I immediately bought more to give as gifts. It is perfectly balanced. I've used it in a master bedroom, great room, small office, and office lobby. It has never smelt too strong or too weak, regardless of the room size it is in. It is exceptionally crafted.
